Kiwis start a conversation about the gender pay gap

YWCA Auckland have just created this advert to call for New Zealanders to make a change by visiting From today until the end of the year, women will work for free. That's because women in New Zealand are paid 10% less than men, for doing the same job. While the Government is currently doing very little about it, this ad offers up one solution of how to even up this pay discrepancy.  This is not just an issue in New Zealand.  

In Australia, the gender pay gap is currently 17.5%. Despite small fluctuations over time, this figure remains virtually unchanged in almost 20 years; in fact, in 1994 the gap was smaller at 15.9%.  You can see more facts about the gender pay gap here at
